Asbestos inventory renovation or construction project

If you demolish a building, according to the asbestos inventory legislation, it is mandatory to also have an asbestos inventory. The asbestos inventory is part of the demolition follow-up plan. It is mandatory to add a demolition follow-up plan when applying for an environmental permit.

According to the asbestos inventory legislation, however, it is only required for a residential building larger than 5,000m3, a non-residential building larger than 1,000m3 or an infrastructure work larger than 250m3.

There are 2 types of asbestos inventories according to the asbestos inventory legislation:

Non-destructive asbestos inventory: according to the asbestos inventory legislation, this inventory does not damage ceilings, floors, etc... to list whether asbestos is present or not. In this inventory, only a list of materials containing asbestos that you can see by sight (without breaking anything open) is compiled.

Destructive asbestos inventory: according to asbestos inventory legislation, this inventory does include ceilings, hours, etc.... if necessary. damaged to list whether asbestos is present or not. This is because in this inventory, a list is compiled of all asbestos-containing materials that you can see on sight but also of all enclosed asbestos materials. This can only be determined by possibly damaging materials (floors, walls, ceilings). According to the asbestos inventory legislation, this inventory is required for buildings that are to be renovated or demolished.

According to the asbestos inventory legislation, an asbestos inventory must be part of the demolition follow-up plan so that the safety of workers on a construction site can be preserved. This is because it allows them to have extra protection if necessary and to take the necessary measures to separate ordinary demolition material from material containing asbestos.
