"Whoever buys an energy-guzzling house from 2023 onwards will be obliged to renovate it. Specifically, this concerns houses with an energy label with EPC score E or worse. In this case, you have to renovate the house within five years of the notarial deed so that it achieves an energy label of at least level D or better." We could read this in this article by Zimmo about the new climate plan of the Flemish government.
"Do you choose a new house after 2023? Then it has to be 'low carbon' and you are obliged to heat it with a hybrid heat pump, which works half on electricity and half on gas. The use of these heat pumps will also be stimulated in existing homes through a premium of 1500 euros for hybrid heat pumps and 2250 euros for air/water heat pumps."
"These obligations will of course cost you some extra. The Flemish Government is therefore also committed to help you financially with these renovation works. The existing interest-free energy loan (0% loan) will be increased from a maximum of 15,000 euros to 50,000 euros with a maximum term of 25 years. Are you renovating to make your house a label C house or better? Then a negative interest rate for 10 years will be offered. They will therefore receive money from the Flemish government to start the renovation. You will also still be able to make additional use of the existing renovation premiums of the Flemish government."
